In Texas, child support is often a math calculation based on your income. It’s hard to get the court to deviate from the standard child support guidelines. Recently, at a final child support hearing, we convinced the court to do $150 less than the monthly guideline amount so my client can pay for travel expenses to visit his child overseas.
