Probate

NO FUSS TEXAS PROBATE

Client's father passed and a life insurance check was issued to his father's estate. Client was the named beneficiary in the will, which was probated as a muniment of title (a simpler process than a full probate for small estates with no debt). The insurance company asked for letters testamentary so they could reissue the checks to client. However, in a muniment case no letters are issued. I wrote a letter to the life insurance company explaining muniment of title procedures in Texas, and within a few days, the company reissued the checks to my client.
